Beautiful butterfly. I have only once seen one of these in a butterfly house. Do they have a blue sheen when the light hits them at the right angle? I think the males and females are different?
Yes on both counts. This is the male. I saw a female as well, but before I could get a shot, a kid ran down the path and startled it. So sad. But I have photos of the same species, different subspecies in Thailand. They are more abundant in there in my experience.
